iMantus (fka Psykhomantus) the original Bruk Beat Turntablist bridges the gap and connects the dots between Broken Beat and other progressive music genres as well as showcasing the whole spectrum of Turntablism.
Inspired by DJ Cash Money, DJ Jazzy Jeff, X-Ecutioners, DJ Spinna and IG Culture, his love of music shines through in everything he does on two turntables and a mixer. He was an original member of the Birmingham turntablist group A Few Good Men. In arts, a musical director and live on stage DJ in theatre, creative director and founder of the former Hip-Hop web series/game show VisionBombing, resident DJ for ™Shall I Bruk it.
As the recording artist Psykhomantus goes by his moniker name iMantús. In 2024 the original bruk beat turntablist has also been working with Birmingham producer Reon Vangèr with a remix project inspired by ™Shall I Bruk it. Few of the tracks got leaked on to digital radio platforms including Rinse F.M. and Jazz.FM. After hearing the response and support of the leaked songs, the duo decided to compete the project and entitled it "iMantus x Reon Vangèr presents Bruk Re:freshed".
In the past, Psykhomantus has been featured on other recordings artists music as a turntablist adding his cuts and scratchies. Underground Hip Hop artists D.Crime, k9, and SIddeeq Matthews have had the pleasure of featuring Psykhomantus on some of their releases. MadFlow dedicated a song to Psykhomantus on his 2019 album “The Abominable Flowman Returns“ called “Edward Ziggahands. The song features Psykhomantus doing the cuts.
